  • What techniques does an Osteopath use?

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy. Each osteopathic treatment is tailored to the needs of the individual, and for those requiring a hands-on approach, treatment may include the following:

    • Massage

      Stretching

    • Repetitive movements

      Mobilisation

    • Manipulation

Most Osteopathic treatment in Perth is non-invasive and should not cause undue discomfort. If your injuries do require hands-on treatment of painful and tender areas, your Osteopathic Physician will aim to make you as comfortable as possible. Cranial Sacral is a wonderful alternative to conventional treatment with minimal invasiveness.

There are osteopathic techniques, which may cause some short-term discomfort or pain.

You may experience mild soreness for a day or two after osteopathic treatment, similar to that felt after mild exercise. If this soreness persists or increases significantly, please do not hesitate to contact your HealthState Osteopath to discuss your concerns.

If you are hypersensitive and hands-on treatment is too much, the option of non-invasive cranial-sacral biodynamic treatment is available. This treatment will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and calm.
